Glacier

We left Baniff and headed toward Glacier National Park. The scenery changed to large fields of canola which was in bloom producing large strips of yellow in the landscape.

We drove to East Glacier to spend the night. Here are some of the landscape photos I took along Lower St. Mary Lake.

Forest fire and beetle kill are very apparent in this area.

We took highways 49 and 89 back up to Saint Mary and the east entrance to Glacier Park. Wonderful scenery and a coyote were the early morning treats.

Into the park and a look at Upper Saint Mary Lake and Two Dog Flats.

The next stop is the Golden Staircase and Wild Goose Island in Upper Saint Mary Lake.
How to take photos when the view is obstructed by tree tops.
Water falls along the Sunrift Gorge.

The bear grass at Lunch Creek and the scenery and mountain goats at Logan Pass were exciting.

Looking back at the Triple Arches engineering.

Landscapes

Here are some landscapes from Jasper and Baniff Parks. Can you figure out which ones were taken on sunlit days?

It finally rained and the sun came out the next morning!

From Watson Lake to Calgary

Well we finally got to where I could get internet. The Canadian Parks and wilderness don't support it very well. The first wild life we spotted when we left Watson Lake were woodland bison.

The next thing we saw was a nursery of stone sheep.

Later in our travels we came across several stone sheep rams. One showed off and climbed a rock cliff.

In Jasper we saw bull elk and cows and calves.

I finally got a good photo of a black bear. this one was a 2 year old that was brown.

While we were traveling we were in air that was saturated with smoke from forest fires. On Monday I read where there were over 1400 fires in BC.
